| For Western travelers, used to Sofitel's usually consistent 4-star delivery, be aware that Chengdu is a bit different from cities you might be used to. There's very little HEAT... anywhere. So, if you're traveling during the winter, it might be surprisingly chilly in parts of the interior. Also, the hotel feels somewhat old. Don't get me wrong, it's a Sofitel and is mostly great, but just not quuuiiite amazing. The one in Beijing (The Sofitel Wanda) is better, for example.
There is NO WIRELESS internet in any of the rooms. There is WI-FI in the lobby, but not in the rooms. And the food is generally quite expensive (buffet, lobby drinks/snacks, etc.). Possibly a bit overpriced.
It's a very good hotel, just not amazing. |
